Is WWE using Kevin Owens the wrong way? - Wrestling World

During his WWE career, Kevin Owens has once held the NXT Championship, once the Universal Championship, twice the Intercontinental title and three times the United States Championship. Previously, he had won several belts in independent federations such as Ring of Honor, Combat Zone Wrestling and Pro Wrestling Guerrilla.

Immediately after WrestleMania 38, 'KO' started a feud with Ezekiel, not believing that he was really Elias' brother. On June 5, in Hell in a Cell, the Canadian superstar got the better of Ezekiel by relaunching his character.

In the latest edition of his now-famous show, Freddie Prinze Jr. argued that Owens deserves to be in a much better position than he is now.

Kevin Owens is a WWE veteran

"My opinion is that Kevin Owens should always take part in important storylines" - began Freddie.

“His level of commitment, his talent and his ability to interact with fans are rare in this business. He should always be the center of attention. In my opinion, WWE should have him working with athletes like Cody Rhodes, Roman Reigns, Bobby Lashley or anyone vying for the world title” - added Prinze Jr.

Speaking to 'After the Bell', KO revealed why he decided to renew his contract with WWE: “Vince McMahon was one of the factors that led me to stay in WWE. He wanted me to stay in his company and took part in the negotiations for my renewal.

This place is like family to me, I mean it. I do not intend to discredit All Elite Wrestling, which is definitely a family for the wrestlers who play within it. However, there are some of my best friends in WWE. They are people I hang out with even outside of work.

They asked me to stay and I accepted without hesitation”. Kevin Owens's name had been associated with AEW several times over the past few months. Since unifying the titles, Reigns hasn't had a championship defense on WWE programming.

He was part of a six-man tag team match at WrestleMania Backlash, as The Bloodline defeated Drew McIntyre, Riddle, and Randy Orton. Recent reports have suggested that The Tribal Chief is expected to miss the WWE Money in the Bank Premium Live Event as well.

However, a match between him and Randy Orton is in the works for this year's SummerSlam. It remains to be seen when Reigns will be making his return to WWE programming. In one of his latest appearances on SmackDown, he helped The Usos win the RAW Tag Team Championships by beating RK-Bro.
