Hook's dad is ECW legend/AEW announcer Taz, who wrestled from 1987 to 2006. He is best known for his WWE tenure, during which he mostly worked as a color commentator, but the bulk of his professional success came in Paul Heyman's Extreme Championship Wrestling. In ECE, Taz was a three-time ECW World Tag Team Champion, a two-time ECW World Television Champion, and a two-time ECW World Heavyweight Champion. He was also the inaugural holder of the FTW Championship, a title he later reactivated in AEW.

As you might recall, HOOK (real name Tyler Senerchia) was welcomed into the AEW fold when he was revealed as the newest member of Team Taz on the December 16, 2020 edition of Dynamite. The 22-year-old was trained by QT Marshall and Cody Rhodes at the Nightmare Factory in Atlanta, GA.

During the December 10 edition of AEW Rampage, Taz was on commentary as HOOK made his in-ring professional wrestling debut against Fuego Del Sol. Hook won the match in under four minutes thanks to the submission finisher popularized by his old man: the Kata ha jime, better known as the Tazmission, which HOOK later redubbed REDRUM.

HOOK is currently 6-0 in AEW singles competition,
