Jorge Lorenzo confirms his future and fulfills dream - Motorcycle Sports

Jorge Lorenzo was made official this monday as the new MotoGP TV commentator for DAZN in Spain. He takes up his duties at the Qatar GP next weekend, in what is his return to work in the premier class some two years after his stay at Yamaha as a test rider.

After the end of his career in 2019, Lorenzo told more than once that he would like to be a TV commentator – even recently. Now, he is confirmed in the DAZN team, which already has two other former riders – Alex Crivillé and Carlos Checa.

With him, the mallorcan brings the experience of almost two decades as a rider in various categories of the World Championships, three MotoGP titles and the fact that he represented three different manufacturers (Ducati, Honda and Yamaha). In an interview with DAZN, Lorenzo said:

– I am very exquoted to comment. After leaving motorcycling I decided to have a more peaceful life. I passed and I will have a great time. I come with the humility of knowing that it's something new for me, that I have a lot to learn, but knowing that I have a lot of experience in what I'm going to talk about, and that I can add a lot to the audience.

On what he brings with him to the position of television commentator, the spaniard added: 'I think I can add a lot of technical freshness. [...]. I know motorcycles perfectly. I know the people who work there, especially the engineers, which is very important to add technical issues. And then I know exactly what can go well under any circumstances'.

Adblock test (Why?)
