Cameroon will look to make it back-to-back wins to begin the Africa Cup of Nations as they face Ethiopia this afternoon.

Having beaten Burkina Faso in the tournament opener, the hosts can all but secure passage into the next round even with just a point against a side who lost their first game in disappointing fashion against Cape Verde.

It’s hard to imagine anything other than Nigeria’s performance against Egypt having concerned Cameroon thus far. So strong at home, the Indomitable Lions look early favourites for AFCON success along with their neighbours.

Still, as disappointing as Ethiopia were in their loss, they cannot be ruled out. Sierra Leone’s shock draw with Algeria has at least opened the door to a surprise, after all.

Date, kick-off time and venue

Cameroon vs Ethiopia will kick-off at 4pm GMT today - Thursday January 13, 2022.

The Olembe Stadium in Yaounde will host the match.

Bayern Munich forward Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting, meanwhile, could come in for the hosts.

Cameroon vs Ethiopia prediction

Given how hyped Cameroon have been for a tournament on home soil, there’s always a danger of the pressure becoming too much.

Still, while they weren’t overly convincing against Burkina Faso, it would be foolish to write them off.

Cameroon to win 2-1.
