Whiskey City Salvage reopens in expanded warehouse - WEEK

PEORIA (25 News) - One Peoria shop got a makeover and expansion this holiday weekend.

Whiskey City Salvage is reopening in the Warehouse District after the pandemic forced them to move locations. The owner says the new space is bigger and better than before.

The shop sells crafted goods, new and used furniture, antiques and more. Owner Matt Faughn says they aim to celebrate the history of the River City and Central Illinois.

“We’re saving history in Peoria, and all of our pieces have a story to go with them,” Faughn said. “We document everything that we salvage, and what we have discovered is a lot of people love the story that goes along with this piece.”

Faughn says staying open during the pandemic was a challenge but they are excited for the future. The new store is located near the intersection of Jefferson St. and Maple St. in Peoria.
