Ring Of Honor Stalwart Jay Lethal Signs With AEW, Debuts At Full Gear - TheSportster

Jay Lethal is officially ALL ELITE! The Ring Of Honor stalwart made his unannounced AEW debut at Full Gear ... and he immediately challenged TNT Champion Sammy Guevara.

It all went down at the Target Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota on Saturday, November 13. Shortly before the main event was due to begin, AEW announcer took to the stage to make a special announcement. Schiavone then welcomed Jay Lethal to the stage.

Letha got on the mic and declared his interest in answering Sammy Guevara's TNT title open challenge. Lethal said he would prefer to have the match then and there, but since Guevara had just been through a hellacious match, he'd settle for this coming Wednesday's edition of Dynamite. A taped-up and visibly exhausted Sammy Guevara then appeared on the stage to confront Lethal. Guevara accepted Lethal's challenge and the two men engaged in a staredown until they were eventually pulled apart by AEW officials.

Jay Lethal has been wrestling professionally since 2001. He made his Ring Of Honor debut in 2003 and remained with the company until 2006. In 2005 Lethal began working for TNA (now Impact Wrestling). During his TNA tenure, which lasted for six years, Lethal adopted a Macho Man Randy Savage impersonator gimmick and became known as Black Machismo. He also formed a tag team with Consequences Creed (WWE's Xavier Woods) called Lethal Consequences, and feuded with the legendary Ric Flair.

In 2011, Lethal returned to Ring Of Honor and went on to win the promotion's main championship on two occasions. He currently holds the record for most combined days as Ring Of Honor Champion.

As we reported, Ring Of Honor recently announced that it would be going on a hiatus in order to reassess its business plan. As a result, its entire roster was released.
