Canelo Alvarez Gives Brutally Honest Advice to Anthony Joshua Before Switching Trainers ...

Anthony Joshua, in his biggest title defense against Oleksandr Usyk, ended up on the losing vertical. Post that loss, Joshua took a stroll to America’s biggest boxing gyms, and he met the likes of Eddy Reynoso and Ronnie Shields. He did this, as he wanted to explore fresh options and ideas to help him prepare for the Usyk rematch. However, Canelo Alvarez believes Joshua may not be able to change things with just one camp.

In a chat on DAZN Boxing, he said, “I think he can beat Usyk without Eddy (Reynoso) and with Eddy. Sometimes you guys think with one training camp it’s gonna change everything. You can’t change one fight in one single camp. You need to be with them like four-five camps and then, in the process, you come in. It’s not enough, one camp.”

Joshua hasn’t parted ways with his long-time trainer, Rob McCracken. However, it is expected that he will rope in a new trainer, or another trainer, ahead of the 2022 match against Usyk.

Should Anthony Joshua really switch his trainer?

Anthony Joshua is expected to fight Usyk by February 2022. With that date in mind, he has a substantial time in hand to add some movements, punching variations, and defense to prepare for the rematch against ‘The Cat’.
