Portland Timbers 3, Real Salt Lake 2 - Final: Video highlights, live updates recap

UPDATE: The Timbers defeat Real Salt Lake 3-2.

The Portland Timbers are coming off a series of disappointing results, and after trading away one of the team’s leading goal scorers in Jeremy Ebobisse, we’ll see if they can find the offense they need to secure a win at home over Real Salt Lake tonight. This match kicks off live from Providence Park on Saturday, August 7, at 7:30 p.m. PT/10:30 p.m. ET with a live broadcast on ROOT Sports.

If you are outside of the Portland and Salt Lake media markets, you can watch the match on MLS LIVE on ESPN+ for less than $6.

80th minute: Damir Kreilach nets one for Real Salt Lake off a bouncing ball in the box and fires it home, but it looks like it will be a little too late for RSL to mount a serious comeback. Timbers still lead it 3-2. WATCH:

62nd minute: Sebastian Blanco sends in a beautiful ball and Felipe Mora’s run is perfectly timed. Mora catches it on his toe, drops it onto the pitch, spins away from the keeper and then fires it blindly to the far post for the goal. Absolutely tremendous goal. WATCH:

40th minute: Real Salt Lake pulls a goal back as Albert Rusnak cleverly fakes to the far post and then sends a hard ground ball through traffic and gets it past the keeper on the near post. That goal gets one for the visitors just before the halftime whistle. Timbers still lead it 2-1, but defense continues to be a problem for Portland. WATCH:

29th minute: The Timbers put together some incredible ball movement and timely passes that open up a shot for Yimmi Chara and he sends a lazer to the upper corner that is good for another Timbers goal. Portland now lead Real Salt Lake 2-0. WATCH:

10th minute: Timbers are awarded a penalty kick and Dairon Asprilla steps up and slots in home for an early goal that puts the Timbers up 1-0 on Real Salt Lake. WATCH:
