Questions Within WWE About How Talking Smack & RAW Talk Will Change

Talking Smack and RAW Talk are supplemental shows associated with their respective brands. The company got into the groove of filming those shows in a certain way during the pandemic, but a return to the road is raising some questions about how they will continue.

We previously reported that WWE moved Paul Heyman off Talking Smack. Now it appears that Pat McAfee will take over for Heyman alongside Kayla Braxton. There are a few other concerns when it comes to bringing back live fans.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter noted that many have unanswered questions about how the company will tape RAW Talk and Talking Smack when they get back on the road. Live fans will be in the building so that might eliminate an opportunity to film, or they’ll have to figure out a different time and location to tape those shows.

There are questions about how they are going to handle the shows in a few weeks once they go back on the road.

It was noted that Talking Smack “shouldn’t be an issue,” because that show is taped at night and aired the next morning. Fox wanted Talking Smack to air on Saturday morning so they don’t spoil the Western Time Zone feed of SmackDown for fans. RAW Talk is a different story because it typically airs live after the red brand’s show every week.

It doesn’t sound like WWE is nixing those shows. It should also be important to note that both of those shows have been cancelled in the past and brought back again. We will continue monitoring this ongoing situatoin.
