Demetrius Andrade Puts Pressure on DAZN To Force Golovkin To Unify

WBO middleweight champion Demetrius Andrade is applying pressure on DAZN to force Gennadiy Golovkin, who holds the IBF title at 160, to fight him in a unification clash.

Both fighters are showcased by the DAZN streaming service - but Golovkin appears content to sit on the shelf until a potential unification clash with WBA champion Ryota Murata - which is targeted to headline a huge New Year's Eve show on December 31 in Japan.

Golovkin is apparently not interested in facing Andrade - who took to social media to vent about GGG's position.

"Of course Golovkin won't fight me. DAZN Boxing, make him unify! [Promoter] Tom Loeffler, you don't got enough confidence in your guy?? Yeah, this is a direct challenge to Tom, [trainer] Johnathan Banks and GGG... Where [are] your balls?," Andrade stated.

Andrade has been out of the ring since April, when he won a dominant twelve round unanimous decision over mandatory challenger Liam Williams.

After fulfilling his mandatory obligation, Andrade is now free to make a voluntary defense - and he wants Golovkin.

Andrade, even with a world title around his waist, has had trouble securing fights with big name opponents from the United States.

After capturing world titles at junior middleweight, Andrade was unable to land opponents of note and made the move to middleweight in 2017.

He's made failed attempts to face GGG for the last few years.

Golovkin has been out of the ring since December of last year, when he stopped mandatory challenger Kamil Szeremeta in the seventh round. It was Golovkin's first fight in over a year. That victory allows Golovkin to make a voluntary defense in his next fight.
