It was the last weeks of 2020, precisely the first week of December and All Elite Wrestling has literally upset the world of wrestling by announcing in an episode of AEW Dynamite the return on the scene of the legendary wrestler Sting, who, after 30 years in the ring.

of WCW, TNA and WWE decided to formalize this new experience with the federation of Tony Khan. Sting is 62 and the decision to return to the ring has shocked all wrestling fans. Thanks to this sensational shock, the AEW has had incredible numbers of sales on the official AEW athletes shop and has certainly increased interest in it.

Sting revealed he wanted to face The Undertaker in WWE.

Sting's in-ring career in AEW

During an interview with Bleacher Report Sting revealed the real reason for his farewell to WWE and told how he would have liked to face another legend of this business like The Undertaker in a WWE cinematic match.

Here are his words about it: "It wasn't my goal to go back to the ring, the only thing I wanted to do when I was in WWE was to challenge the Undertaker in a cinematic match, but we weren't able to find an agreement.

Tony Schiavone contacted me and asked me if I wanted to do this challenge and let him know a little in advance. In the end, however, I realized that things with WWE were not working and he hated this because it seemed that he was running away from the company where he had worked for so many years."

Sting then spoke of having told the management of All Elite Wrestling that he was willing to come back to make cinematic matches and after some negotiations, he thus found an agreement to sign with Tony Khan's company.

We recently saw Sting fight in a Tag Team Match paired with Darby Allin against Brian Cage and Ricky Starks, all in a match valid in Revolution Pay per View and in the end it was Sting's duo who came out on top. Earlier this year, it was revealed that Sting would make a return to the ring in a tag match.

Sting teamed up with Darby Allin to face the team of Brian Cage and Ricky Starks at the Revolution pay-per-view. Allin and Sting emerged victorious in the street fight after the latter landed his trademark Scorpion Death Drop on Ricky Starks.
