Robert Covington considered an underdog to win NBA Skills Challenge | Odds, Time, TV channel ...

The Portland Trail Blazers are being well-represented at NBA All-Star Weekend and will be featured in the weekend’s first major event as forward Robert Covington gets set to compete in the 2021 NBA Skills Challenge which tips off on Sunday, March 7 at 3:30 p.m. PT/6:30 p.m. ET at Philips Arena in Atlanta, Georgia, with a live broadcast on FOX.

According to oddsmakers, Covington is considered an underdog to win this year’s edition of the NBA Skills Challenge with a stacked field of players slated to square off tonight including Chris Paul of the Phoenix Suns and Luka Doncic of the Dallas Mavericks among others. But for Covington, this year’s event has even more meaning. As the NBA’s lone alum from an H.B.C.U. (historically black colleges and universities), the Tennessee State product knows how important funding can be for these schools who provide opportunities to black athletes across the country. With the help of the Player’s Association and the league, players who participate in NBA All-Star Weekend festivities will be raising money to make donations to the HBCUs of their choosing.
