Sports Flick to exclusively broadcast the Austrian Bundesliga in Australia

Australian sports streaming service Sports Flick has announced they have secured the broadcast rights to the Austrian Bundesliga - only days after SMH reported the Sydney-based company would be telecasting the UEFA Champions League next season.

The exclusive deal with the Austrian league will commence with three rounds remaining of the 2020-21 competition - but then also cover the Championship round and 2021-22 season.

Sports Flick will be telecasting one marquee match-up a week from the Austrian Bundesliga for the rest of this season, which features teams such as Red Bull Salzburg, Rapid Vienna and LASK Linz.

Socceroo midfielder James Holland - who has 15 green and gold caps - is a prominent midfielder for LASK, while international team-mate Jimmy Jeggo has played in the competition recently also.

Although the rumours of Sports Flick's Champions League acquisition are unconfirmed, the company secured Korea's K-League rights for the upcoming season last week.

"Sports Flick has a goal to become the number one location for football in Australia," Sports Flicks' general manager Michael Turner said.

"With football being Australia’s number one grassroots participation sport, fans are craving more football content from across the world. One of our goals is to give fans the chance to watch different competitions and engage with the world’s game."
