Virtual services at Second Congregational

Second Congregational Church is currently holding virtual services live via YouTube on Sunday mornings at 10am. The Rev. Angela Emerson will preside and preach in Rite II Morning Prayer at 10 a.m., the ninth Sunday after Pentecost at St. Peter's Episcopal Church. The Scripture readings are Genesis 32;22-31, Psalm 17:1-7, 16 and Matthew 14:13-21.

- On Sunday at 1 p.m., we are joining in solidarity with our brothers and sisters across the nation with a 30-minute silent vigil to protest systemic racism. We will gather on the church lawn wearing masks and observing social distancing. Bring a sign or a placard to help get the message across that Black Lives Matter!

- The silent vigil will be followed by a short, meditative prayer walk at 1:30. All are welcome.

- St Peter's is offering a 45-minute weekly Bible Study on Thursdays at 7 p.m., followed by community prayers. If you would like to join our Zoom group, contact the church office.


Communion Sunday worship with the Federated Church

his Sunday, August 2, the invitation is extended to the 10:00 a.m. Service of Worship live via Zoom with the Federated Church of East Arlington. This summer we are exploring the beauty and importance of the Psalms with this week's focus on Psalm 16. It is also Communion Sunday so everyone is encouraged to have some type of bread or cracker and juice or wine handy to participate at the Communion table from the comfort and safety of home. The service will also be available for viewing later on the Federated Church of East Arlington YouTube channel as well as on GNAT-TV.
