Los Angeles Dodgers vs. Houston Astros FREE LIVE STREAM (07/28/20): How to watch MLB, time ...

A rematch between 2017 World Series teams is on tap for the primetime slot of MLB action on Tuesday.

The Los Angeles Dodgers (2-2) and Houston Astros (3-1) will face off against one another in Houston on FS1 tonight. And for Dodgers’ fans, the hope might be that a return to an American League foe can help newcomer Mookie Betts return to form.

Through the first four games of the season, Betts, well, he’s been a bit of a non-factor. He’s slashed just .150/.190/.150 with a stolen base and no home runs. The recipient of a massive 12-year, $365 million extension is one of the game’s premier talents and he’ll be hoping to show that once again to Dodgers’ fans soon.

For the Astros, Tuesday could be a very different kind of showcase. Houston has been clicking early so far having won a four-game series against Seattle to begin the year. The team lost ace Justin Verlander, however, which forces them to find starting pitching elsewhere.

One such solution will likely be Framber Valdez, who has just 107.2 MLB innings to his name and a less-than-stellar 4.60 career ERA to accompany it. He’s shown promise in the minor leagues, however, racking up strikeouts at rates above 10 K/9 consistently and limiting opposing hitters. He starts on Tuesday against the Dodgers with a chance to solidify himself in the rotation if he can impress.

The Dodgers, meanwhile, will be handing the ball over to someone who could be their next ace, Walker Buehler. The right-hander, who celebrates his 26th birthday on Tuesday, has dazzled thus far in his big league career, having pitched to a 2.62 ERA in his Rookie of the Year winning campaign in 2018 and stepping up to become more of a workhorse as a sophomore with a 3.26 ERA across 182.1 innings.
